Included is a 12-month official Ford Diagnostic Subscription registered to your own shop, so the access is yours: not shared, not borrowed, and not dependent on anyone else's account.

🔐 Your own official Ford subscription

• Purchased from Ford (Motorcraft Service) in your shop's name. We create the Motorcraft Service account with your business details and email address, and you keep the login.
• One subscription covers IDS, FJDS and FDRS for 365 days from the day it is activated.
• Not shared, not rented. Your access does not depend on any other customer or on a CodeKrew account. If something changes elsewhere, your subscription is unaffected.
• Renewal stays in your hands. Renew directly with Ford, or let us handle it for you. We will remind you 30 days before it expires.

The subscription is charged at Ford's list price for an annual subscription. The rest of the price covers the VCM3, the remote installation and 12 months of CodeKrew support.

⚡ Why the VCM3

• Ford's own current-generation interface, built for IDS and FDRS
• CAN-FD and DoIP support, required by many 2021 and newer Ford and Lincoln models
• Wired USB or wireless. Use wireless for diagnostics and road tests, and wired for programming.
• Built-in backup capacitor that protects the interface during brief voltage dips. It does not replace a battery support unit when programming.

• Module programming and reprogramming: software updates and Programmable Module Installation (PMI) when replacing modules
• Configuration: As-Built data and vehicle configuration changes
• Guided diagnostics: Ford's own test routines and pinpoint tests
• Service functions: DPF regeneration, injector coding, TPMS, parking brake service, steering angle and battery monitor resets, transmission adaptive relearn, and more
• Keys and immobilizer: supported, but Ford requires a NASTF VSP credential for security-related functions. We can walk you through getting one.

🚗 Vehicle coverage: 1996 to 2026

• Ford, Lincoln and Mercury from 1996 to 2026, using IDS for established platforms and FDRS for newer ones, including 2021+ CAN-FD and DoIP vehicles such as the F-150, Bronco, Maverick, Ranger, Mustang Mach-E, Transit and Super Duty.
• Some pre-2005 vehicles have fewer functions available in Ford's software.

💻 Laptop requirements

Please check your laptop meets these before ordering. If it doesn't, our complete kits with a preinstalled Toughbook CF-20 remove the guesswork (see the comparison below).

• Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit (Home editions are not supported by Ford)
• 8 GB RAM minimum; 16 GB is Ford's recommendation
• Solid-state drive (SSD) with at least 100 GB free
• Intel Core i5 or equivalent, or better
• At least one free USB port
• Broadband internet connection and administrator access to the laptop
• A dedicated workshop laptop is strongly recommended. Antivirus and other diagnostic software can conflict with Ford's tools.

⚙️ How it works

1. Order and VIN check. Place your order and send us the VINs you work on most. We confirm coverage.
2. We ship the VCM3. It is tested before it leaves.
3. Remote install session. Once it arrives, we book a live session by remote desktop. We install and configure IDS, FJDS and FDRS and the VCM3 drivers, create your Motorcraft Service account with you, activate your Ford subscription in your shop's name, and stay on until you are connected to a vehicle.

🔋 Before you program a module

• Connect a battery support unit (BSU) to hold vehicle voltage steady
• Use a wired connection to the interface and a stable internet connection
• Keep the laptop on mains power for the whole session

📄 Refunds and the Ford subscription

The Ford subscription is purchased from Ford in your name and is non-refundable once activated. The VCM3 is covered by our standard 30-day return policy and a 12-month warranty. Because we only activate the subscription during your setup session, once your order has cleared, nothing non-refundable is spent until you are ready to use it.
